Properly dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on the vehicle. Repair or replace tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks. Responsible for proper installation of wheels and tires, balancing wheels, and checking for correct fit. Maintains all inventories and tire equipment. Reassemble tires onto wheels. Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting. Disposes of damaged/old tires in accordance with state regulations. Ensures tires are functioning properly and within the Department of Transportation and Occupational Safety and Health Act Compliance. Safely operates all tools and equipment. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR record. Must be a self-starter and be willing to take initiative. The Service Technician repairs and maintains diesel and gasoline engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications. Diagnoses the cause of any malfunctions and performs repairs. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts. Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Communicate with service advisor/dispatcher immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles when required. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins. Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned. Reportsmachinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. Notifies service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received. Understands keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Inspects tires to be retreaded or repaired to determine condition, repairs needed, etc. Operates a buffing machine to remove treads from tires to be retreaded, following specifications for depth and width of removal. Measures diameter and cross-section to determine correct tread width. Applies rubber cement to tire casing and hangs up to dry. Selects proper size tread rubber and applies it to the tire. Places proper curing tube in the tire and inserts proper rim for curing. Places tire in chamber and programs correct curing temperature according to specification. Sets timer for curing time according to chart, and makes a record of each tire, showing the size and curing time. Removes finished retread from the curing chamber. Also removes the rim and curing bag from a finished retread. Inspects tires to determine defects in curing, i.e. soft cures, ply separation, repairs missed, etc. Trims and paints finished retread. Checks finished tire with a work order for proper identification and completion of work required. Operate independently and as a team member. Inspects and tests tires to ensure conformance to standards. Visually inspect tires to be retreaded to determine condition. Skive, buff, and fill any injury in the tire as required. Receive and unload supplies including tread rubber, cushion gum and repair materials, envelopes, curing rim, tire casings, rims, etc. Assists in distribution center activities as assigned. Perform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment following managers’ and manufacturers’ instructions. Follow processes to ensure retread tire completion. The Counter Sales Associate will assist customers in the shop and over the phone with tire and/or part purchases along with coordinating and scheduling deliveries. Responsibilities: Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required tires/parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Informs customers of companion part requirements, specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line. Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information within a timely matter. Reviews estimates to be sure the tires/parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate. Provides a high level of service to internal and external customers. Notifies the Service Manager of out-of-stock tires/parts or shop materials that need immediate attention. Assists outside sales representatives with their orders. Makes sure all internal requests for tires/parts are billed on the service repair order. Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization. Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer. Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice. Issues credit for tires/parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order tires/parts. Solicits assigned accounts by phone. Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered. Cleans computer terminals and printers daily. Participates in all training programs that are made available. Come join our Team!!! Border Tire is now hiring a Warehouse Associate in El Paso, TX! The Warehouse Associateprovides accurate and correct documentation when loading trucks for delivery. To properly load and unload all trucks for the commercial centers and customers served. Responsibilities: Responsible for inventory in and out of the warehouse. Unload inventory from vendors. Ensure to provide two copies of the work order: retain one of the copies for warehouse records and provide the second to the person releasing the inventory. Make sure all spaces of work orders are fully completed by Warehouse Operative, the person receiving the inventory, and the person releasing the inventory. Receive and unload tires. Stack merchandise on racks. Stock warehouse with new or retread tires. Ensure machinery is serviced and functional. Check-in merchandise and affix labels. Match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to sales associates for processing. Fulfill customer orders. Move materials off racks and package for shipment. Will operate a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items. Follow all safety codes. Place merchandise on pallets or shelves for distribution. Record amounts of materials or items received. Perform facilities maintenance. Sort material according to size, type, style, color, or product code. Carry out tasks as assigned by the warehouse supervisor/manager. Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse. Compile inventory balances and price lists. Maintain records of all activities and processes pertaining to the storehouse. Maintains professional appearance.  Other duties may be assigned by management. Qualifications: Must have basic clerical skills. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment and experience as a forklift operator. Excellent physical condition and coordination. The Tire Technicians are responsible for truck and trailer tires to ensure efficient operation and compliance by performing the following duties.

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Weekends Required: Rotating Shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Inspects truck/trailer tires for excessive wear, bulges, cuts, and damaged tread.
  • Repair tires with minor malfunctions.
  • Properly secure vehicle to lift to ensure safe operation.
  • Unbolt wheels from vehicles and remove them, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Properly dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on the vehicle.
  • Repair or replace tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Responsible for proper installation of wheels and tires, balancing wheels, and checking for correct fit.
  • Maintains all inventories and tire equipment.
  • Reassemble tires onto wheels.
  • Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting.
  • Disposes of damaged/old tires in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ensures tires are functioning properly and within the Department of Transportation and Occupational Safety and Health Act Compliance.
  • Safely operates all tools and equipment.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR record.
  • Must be a self-starter and be willing to take initiative.
  • Willing and able to work without direct supervision.
  • 2+ years related experience (Preferred).
