Job Summary
The Platform Engineer II is responsible for administering, automating, securing, monitoring and continuously improving the Fabric, Azure, and Azure DevOps platforms to provide reliable, standardized, scalable, and cost-effective services for the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages assigned Azure, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric and related platform services and leads the implementation of platform standards and processes.
- Develops and implements CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, alerting, and deployment solutions across data and development environments.
- Leads troubleshooting and resolution of complex platform, deployment, performance, security, connectivity, and capacity issues.
- Develops and executes plans to improve platform reliability, scalability, security, performance, cost, and developer productivity.
- Mentor Level I Engineers, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with application and data teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expertise in cloud technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Two to seven (2–7) years of experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, or a related technical role.
- Proficiency in one or more of Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Fabric; experience with multiple platforms is preferred.
- Experience building and implementing CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, security, and deployment solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring others or leading small projects.
