The Retread Plant Manager is responsible for leading all daily operations of a Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) certified retread facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and consistent production of high-quality Michelin retreads while maintaining strict compliance with MRT standards, quality requirements, and operational best practices. The Plant Manager drives performance through strong leadership, disciplined processes, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with all Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) standards, audits, and certifications.
• Oversee all phases of the MRT process including casing inspection, repair, buffing, building, curing, finishing, and final inspection.
• Maintain Michelin-required documentation, process controls and quality records.
• Prepare for and lead Michelin audits, address findings promptly and effectively.
• Ensure proper handling, tracking and grading of customer and company-owned casings.
• Plan, schedule and manage daily production to meet customer delivery and volume targets.
• Monitor plant KPIs including throughput, yield, scrap rates, downtime and labor efficiency.
• Ensure equipment reliability through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
• Coordinate workflow to maximize plant efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
• Enforce OSHOA, environmental and Michelin safety standards.
• Promote a string safety culture through training, audits and daily accountability.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production employees.
• Manage staffing levels, training, scheduling and labor productivity.
• Conduct performance evaluations and corrective actions as necessary.
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Manager tread rubber, envelopes, cements, casings and other retread materials.
• Control costs related to labor, materials, utilities, maintenance, and scrap.
• Ensure proper casing inventory accuracy and traceability.
• Drive lean manufacturing and waste reduction initiatives.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Implement best practices aligned with Michelin recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with sales, center managers and senior leadership.
• Provide regular reports on production, quality, safety and financial performance.
• Address customer concerns related to retread quality or delivery.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of manufacturing or industrial operations experience..
• 5+ years of supervisory or plant management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage plant operations.
• Strong working knowledge of LEAN methodologies and experience implementing (Preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management systems.

Compensation:

• Base Salary ranges from $100,000 - $125,000 per year 
• Role qualifies for incentive bonus dependent on performance of plant, including but not limited to productivity and overhead costs
