Job Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for leading quality assurance and control processes within a warehouse and distribution environment. This role ensures that inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound processes meet company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance expectations. The supervisor oversees quality audits, inventory accuracy initiatives, process improvements, and team training to maintain operational excellence and minimize errors, damages, and returns.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor warehouse quality control procedures.
- Conduct routine audits of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory processes.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, and customer-specific requirements.
- Investigate and resolve quality discrepancies, damages, and customer complaints.
- Maintain documentation for quality metrics, corrective actions, and audit results.
- Oversee cycle count programs and root cause analysis for inventory variances.
- Partner with inventory control and operations teams to reduce shrinkage and errors.
- Monitor key quality KPIs (order accuracy, damage rates, returns, mis-picks).
- Implement corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).
- Train warehouse associates on quality standards and best practices.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for improvement.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to leadership.
- Track trends and implement proactive quality initiatives.
- Maintain quality documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
- 1–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Experience in high-volume distribution environments preferred
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management systems (WMS).
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety standards.
- Preferred Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
