Senior Network Administrator
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for establishing and maintaining network performance by designing configurations and connections, troubleshooting network problems, and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's network infrastructure. Key measures of success include implementing innovative workflow solutions, developing best practice standards for the Business Intelligence team, and demonstrating attention to detail in identifying and solving problems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive network architectures and system configurations.
- Maximize network performance through advanced monitoring, performance tuning, and proactive troubleshooting.
- Secure the network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
- Design and implement the company's Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including configuring and managing wireless access points, switches, security appliances, and mobile device management systems.
- Monitor network performance and resolve issues promptly.
- Provide support to users, troubleshoot issues, and maintain documentation.
- Manage and allocate network resources, such as bandwidth and IP addresses.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansion projects.
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and make recommendations for new tools and solutions.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures and incident reports.
- Ensure quick response and communication regarding security incidents, network plans, and emergency outages.
Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further network enhancement.
- Perform periodic network firmware upgrades and diagnose problems with network equipment, performing repairs or upgrades as needed.
- Administer and maintain technical support accounts, permissions, and access rights to network infrastructure.
Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network-connected end-user hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Mentor and guide junior network administrators and support staff; develop training programs.
- Participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations to stay updated on job knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, and seven years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced expertise in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki products and systems.
- LAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven experience in leading projects, mentoring staff, and managing complex network infrastructures.
- Azure Networking experience is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills and technical proficiency.
- Some travel may be required.
