The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for repairing trailers to ensure efficient operation and compliance by performing the following duties.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Inspects, adjusts, and repairs trailers with minor problems.
- Ensures equipment is functioning properly and within Department of Transportation compliance.
- Troubleshoots electrical/mechanical malfunctions on air brakes, switches, lighting circuits, control valves, relief valves, and other items.
- Adjusts mechanical items such as doors and slack adjusters.
- Performs light maintenance such as replacing/repairing marker lights, seals, airbags, and mud flaps.
- Performs trailer body repairs such as patching of roofs, panels, rail repairs, door sections, floor sections, cross-member replacement, etc.
- Minor welding repairs.
- Repairs/replaces tires, wheel bearings and seals.
- Changes fluids and filters as necessary.
- Replace and adjust brakes for proper function.
- Inspects and cleans parts; submits orders if part must be replaced.
- Confirms proper function of equipment and truck after maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Two years or more years’ experience in mechanic experience and/or training
- Must meet inspector qualifications outlines by FMCSA section CFR 396.17
- Licensed Mechanic Journeyman preferre
