The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment for all employees and customers. The employee will use the proper materials and methods to assure the areas are orderly, clean, and free of safety hazards. 

Responsibilities:

• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Cleans the service and customer areas.
• Performs routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers or employees.
• Washes all windows, glass doors, and glass panels.
• Mops and cleans waiting areas, offices, lunchrooms, halls, and bathrooms.
• Cleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors, fans, furniture, walls, equipment, etc.
• Maintains hot beverage areas by cleaning counter surfaces and restocking coffee and related supplies as needed.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Cleans all displays daily.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors and carpets.
• Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris, as necessary.
• Empties and cleans lunchroom refrigerator once a week.
• Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, inside and outside. 
• Removes all debris from the lot.
• Maintains yard equipment and cleaning supplies. 
• Mow’s lawn, trims shrubbery and cultivates flowers.
• Understands and complies with OSHA Right-to-Know and other federal, state, and local regulations.
• Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection. 
• May perform minor equipment repair on custodial equipment.
• Maintain satisfactory, regular, and punctual attendance.
• Attend required training as needed.
• Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
• Other duties may be assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
•  Six (6) months of responsible work experience in cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work (Preferred). 
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• General passion for creative problem-solving.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. 
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to keep the company’s premises clean and orderly.
