The Systems Administrator serves as the technical expert on complex applications. Responsible for the entire life cycle of an application monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair by performing the following duties.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail, identifying and solving problems in a timely manner.
  • Champion the application to make sure that users, as well as staff, understand and fully utilize the applications that are managed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements for managed systems environments throughout the organization.
  • Participate in the design and review of new systems managed and application deployments in both workstations and servers.
  • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of systems managed to meet corporate objectives.
  • Manage system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
  • Support product development teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software problems, Including supporting our helpdesk team with the end user desktop PCs.
  • Install, modify, and maintain systems managed and utility software on server computer systems.
  • Provides server support related to other software within system managed.
  • Develops procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of systems and hosted applications.
  • Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host systems.
  • Work with the implementation team to create how to use systems managed.
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of systems managed.
  • Provide leadership in planning and implementation of project systems administration.
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems that are managed and recommend ways for end-users to take advantage of new technology.
  • Work with the Security team to develop procedures and protect systems from unauthorized use.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and systems documentation for new IT staff.
  • Travel to sites when required for system maintenance.
  • Be available after hours when work is needed to be done on managed systems.
  • Arriving to work on time.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:                                                                 

  • Associate's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Two years experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience on systems managed.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and programs.
  • Acquainted with the notion of computer coding and programming.
