The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the fleet and mechanics.

Key measures of success include:

• High utilization of drivers, tractors, trailers, and other company resources.
• Maintain a high percentage of target miles for the fleet.
• Maintain a low turnover of mechanics supervised.
• Strong call handling performance as measured by the Call Availability Report (CAR).
• Must be computer literate and be able to produce KPI's. 
• Be recognized by team, peers, and drivers as a key supporter.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Weekends On-Call)

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles. 
• Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed. 
• Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress. 
• Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency. 
• Maintain departmental compliance with company policies and procedures. 
• Ensure departmental adherence to applicable laws and regulations. 
• Recordkeeping. 
• Manage other employees. 
• Negotiate with suppliers. 
• Resolve disputes. 
• Communicate professionally, effectively, and timely with both internal and external customers/contacts.  
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that facilitates the success of business operations to meet company demands and expectations. 
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Advanced knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations is a must.  
• Knowledge of trucking operations. 
• Strong customer service skills. 
• Knowledge of time/distance geography.  
• Strong organizational and time management skills.   
• Strong written and oral communication skills.   
• Requires 2 years or more experience in the transportation industry.  
• Basic knowledge of fuel terms, customer needs, and scheduling. 
• Ability to communicate clearly with management and customers.
